I’m Thankful For…….

In Advisory, our teacher told us to write ten things down that we don’t like doing.  Later, we made those into things we were grateful for.  Here’s my paper.  (Sorry, it looks messed up with different sizes and stuff.  I made it look pretty, but it didn’t want to.) I’m serious… it didn’t turn out right.  Oh well!   :)

I’m Thankful For……

Waking up early for school

Because it means I have a school to get to and a good education

Doing the dishes

Because it means I have food to eat

Doing homework

Because it means I can learn and get smarter

Getting in Trouble with my parents

Because it means I have parents to discipline me

Doing the laundry

Because it means I have clothes to wear

Cleaning my room

Because it means I have a room and things in it to clean up

Eating Brussels Sprouts

Because It means I have vegetables to eat

Being in the cold

Because it means we have seasons and changes

Cleaning the bathroom

Because it means I have a bathroom facility

When my siblings annoy me

Because it means I have siblings to be with

Trunk or Treat

We had our ward trunk or treat today, (the day before Halloween).  There were lots of people there.  We all wanted to see what everyone’s costumes were.  Just a few days before Halloween, I decided to dress up as a secret agent.  I wore black pants, an old white button-up shirt, a tie, and black sunglasses.  Matthew was a cute doctor and when anyone asked him what he was, he said “I’m Dr. Johnson” (as his parents had trained him to).  He was so cute and everyone loved him!

We all ate chili, chips, and brownies, (as if we needed more sugar).  Then the Trunk-or-Treating came.  Crazy exited kids waited until the adults said they could burst out the door.  They went through rounds and rounds of laps, not thinking of a single thing…… except candy.  (Who can blame them?)  My friend Ashlynn and I went around about twice and started eating and talking.  When all the candy was out, the kids came in and showed each other how much they got.  It was super fun!

We have school tomorrow, on Halloween.  :(   I should get to bed. Bye!

My Birthday Party

My birthday party was really fun! We hung out on the tramp, ate pizza, and went to the park. We also decorated my cardboard guitar case.  At night we watched Enchanted and hoped the adults wouldn’t pick up the girls for a while. Hannah, Jessica, and Emma are from k-town and live an our away so they slept over and dad drove them home in the morning. It was really fun!

HMS Tract Meet

On May 7 we had the HEIDELBERG MIDDLE SCHOOL  TRACT MEET! We were assigned running parts in the tract meet.  Some people were in field events. I was in the 400 and 800 meter relay races. Only 4 girls were assigned for those on our P.E. class. Two girls were also assigned the mile in our class and I was one of them. I didn’t want to be in the mile at first, but I had to.

I ran first in the 400 meter relay race and we made 2nd place. When we were practicing against the boys for the 400 relay, we beat them every time. The 800 relay was harder because we had to 200 meters each and I’m better at short distance than long. I think we made 3rd place for that.

Then I ran the mile and went really slow the whole time so I wouldn't fell sick. I thought one girl was ahead of me but she apparently collapsed and couldn’t go any further.  I passed on girl on the final lap, but didn’t realize it. She barely passed me  on the last step of the race.  That’s why everyone was cheering so loud! I ended up second place.

It was a FUN Tract Meet!

Ballroom Soiree

All of the ballroom classes performed our dances on the 23rd of May, including Ryan and me.  I am in Ballroom 2.  Mrs. Arianna is our ballroom teacher and is amazing.  My class opened the show with ‘MEN IN BLACK’ which is a Rumba dance. It was one of my favorite dances. The girls all wore black pants and a button up shirt with the boys who wore black ties. We changed into our dresses which were black and white.

Later we finished our dances which were: The Foxtrot, the Waltz, the Swing (which I was the male for), the Hustle, and the Polka.

There were many solos from Ballroom 4 and one from Ballroom 2 which we were really exited about. We had dinner in our brakes. To close the show Ballrooms 2,3 and 4 performed the Samba. First the ballroom 2 finished and froze while 3 and 4 finished their routines. It was really fun!!

The Hunger Games

I recently finished the Hunger Games series. I love the characters and the book: The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mocking Jay. I liked the first book the best! I have also gotten lots of my friends to read the series. Go Peeta!

Malaga, Spain

We went to Southern Spain for Spring Break with our best friends,  the Chuggs!

When we got off the 3 hour plane, we found our rented car. Wow!  Ours was HUGE. A BUS! A nine seater with a huge trunk for all of our luggage.

We drove to an Easter processional parade.  There were people dressed in hooded black suits carrying candles and pictures of the crucifixion. There were also a few cool and HUGE floats with men carrying them. We watched a lot of that at midnight.  Then we headed back toward the cars with cold Magnum bars.

We found our rented house thing and picked beds, and went to sleep immediately.

The house had three floors, a balcony, and a small backyard. (Well, bigger than our Germany backyard.) My sisters, Hannah Chugg, and I slept downstairs. As did my parents and little brothers, but they were in a room.  We were out in the open. Hannah turned 11 in December. She is a good friend and always up for a board game.

Stuff

Things that have happened lately:

  • March 15 - Mom left for a girls trip to buy pottery and stuff.
  • March 25 - Dad left for Utah for a medical conference and got to see almost all of our extended family.   (NOT FAIR!)
  • March 31 - We watched the Saturday morning session of General Conference :)
  • Last Week - I have started a huge Greece project in Social Studies  :(
  • March 31 - Ryan and I performed in a Ballroom recital!!!!

We performed at the elementary school along with ballet classes and hip hop classes. Ryan is in Ballroom 3 and I’m in 2.  My class opened the night with our Men in Black routine, then all the other classes went and we did the rest of our dances.  We all wore black pants and a button up shirt with sunglasses for Men in Black and then had a break so the girls could change into their dresses.  We did the Polka, Fox Trot, and Hustle.  -Ryan did really good, although I only saw one of his dances and his practice performance.

    The Hunger Games

I recently decided to read The Hunger Games since the movie was coming out and Dad and Ryan liked it.  I made a bet with a boy in my class that I’d finish it by Friday.  (It was a Monday when this happened.) I only had 4 days to read it. I bet him 5 bucks, but he narrowed it down to three and said I had to get a 10/10 on the reading test for The Hunger Games.  Sure enough I finished the book on Thursday night and the next day made a 100 percent on the reading test. If I didn’t finish it I’d have to give him 3 bucks. The next Friday Dad, Ryan, and I saw the movie and Mom started reading it.  (I am borrowing these books from the Chuggs, our best friends.)

Now I’m almost done with Catching Fire, the second book. I LOVE the Hunger Games!!!  It has awesome characters and I’m not going to say anything.  Go read it YOURSELF!

Bye!
