Fun at School

At school we did a big Christmas carol sing-along.  We did the actions to all the songs.  At the end of the sing-along the teachers performed a dance to Santa Clause is Comin' to town.  Rockstar style!  It was so so funny.  They were all doing the same dance. They were all elves with silly hats.

On Friday I was getting ready for school until I found out that school would start 2 hours late because of the deep snow.  It was pajama day! Once I got to school, Ms. Ryan turned on the Polar Express.  When we were halfway through the movie we saw a play by some other 5th graders.  We went to lunch, finished the movie, and watched the Elf.  The whole time, my friends and I were making bookmarks and doing crafts.  We were going to do an honor roll ceremony but since school started a little late, we will have to do it after Christmas.  My 4 friends and I all got all As.

Gingerbread houses

We made gingerbread houses at school.  We made the dough, cut out pieces, and parents took them home to bake.  It was really fun to make the dough.  Everybodyt had a partner. We used measuring cups and put lots of ingredients in my blue bowl.  We mixed it.  Then we cut out the dough that made our hands very messy.  It was kind of hard to put the baked gingerbread pieces together.  Parts of everybody's gingerbread had fallen off. Next we decorated them.  My mom came for the decorating.   It was really fun!

Piano

Ryan, Emily, and I have been taking piano lessons.  We take them from a lady in our ward on Wednesday afternoon.  We walk to her house with her daughters, Lindsay 9 and Brooklyn 6.  Her house is very close to the Elementary school.  I love playing Christmas songs.  The Christmas songs I learned this year are Do You Hear What I Hear, I'll be home for Christmas, Frosty the Snowman, and Rudolf the Rudolf the red-nosed Reindeer.  I love piano!
